India’s early exit from the T20 World Cup last year was a result of their cautious approach at the beginning of the innings. The competition served as Shastri’s final task as head coach of India.
They shouldn’t alter their strategy (they have shown of late). Even when I was the coach, we talked about how we were a little reserved at the top because of the talent we had farther down the line.
“It is the appropriate strategy. You will lose a few games in between, but if you start out well with this strategy, you can use that confidence in crucial matches with the same strategies, said Shastri during a press conference hosted by Star Sports.
