In the Under-19 World Cup 2024 final held in Benoni on Sunday, India lost heartbreakingly to Australia. The team captained by Uday Saharan lost the summit match by a score of 79 runs. While Adarsh Singh, the opener, and Murugan Abhishek made contributions with innings of 47 and 42, respectively, other Indian batsmen were unable to match them in the chase for 254. In 43.5 overs, the side was bowled out for 174. Even though fast bowler Raj Limbani had earlier recorded figures of 3 for 38 in his 10 overs, Australia managed to score 253 for 7, the best total in the tournament’s history. With a 55-run innings, Harjas Singh led Australia’s scorers.
