In the second and final game of the Hung Thinh Friendly football competition on Tuesday, India was beaten 0-3 by a higher-ranked Vietnam.
The 104th-ranked Indians, who had three easy victories in the Asian Cup qualifiers in June and a 1-1 draw against Singapore in this event on Saturday, were given a reality check when they were utterly outplayed in the second half by the 97th-ranked Vietnamese team.
Vietnamese goals in the 10th, 49th, and 70th minutes—scored by Phan Van Duc, Nguyen Van Toan, and Nguyen Van Quyet—left the Indian defence helpless, especially in the second half.
But the Indians remained competitive with their opponents in the first half before being completely destroyed in the second.
