Having achieved a record-breaking 434 Test wickets at the end of his career, Kapil is regarded as one of the greatest all-around players in history.
Kapil Dev, an iconic former Indian all-rounder, believes Jasprit Bumrah is a “1000 times better” bowler than he was in his prime. Bumrah has done remarkably well in the present T20 World Cup, taking 11 wickets at an impressive economy rate of 4.08 in 23 overs. “Bumrah is a thousand times better than me. These little lads are significantly superior to us. We had greater experience. “They are better,” Kapil told ‘PTI Videos’.
Now considered the finest pacer in international cricket, Bumrah has amassed 159 wickets at an economy rate of less than three over his 26 Test matches for India. While he has taken 85 wickets from 68 T20I matches, his 89 ODI games have resulted in 149 wickets.
Recognized as one of the greatest all-around players of all time, Kapil concluded his career with a then world record 434 Test wickets in addition to 253 ODI scalps. Having guided India to their first World Cup victory in 1983, the 65-year-old also praised the current national team’s general level of fitness.
They’re excellent. Superb. They fit better. Their work ethic is far higher. He exclaimed, “They are amazing.
The renowned athlete who also excelled as an amateur golfer, Kapil Dev, is the new President of the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI). Dev won the World Cup as a cricket captain for India, and this appointment signifies a fresh start for him.
The unanimous choice, the 65-year-old Vice President of the PGTI Board, will succeed the outgoing H R Srinivasan, whose tenure has come to an end.
Kapil is well-known for being an avid golfer; at one point, his handicap was practically zero.
“As someone who has been involved with PGTI for a number of years, it is an honor to take on the role of President. Regarding his new role, Kapil remarked, “It’s a players body, and I am great friends with all of them and with whom I often play.”
