Michael Clarke, former Australia captain, praised the Indian star after his outstanding performance against England in Visakhapatnam.

Following Jasprit Bumrah’s outstanding performance against England in the second Test in Visakhapatnam, former Australia captain Michael Clarke was full of praise for the bowler. Bumrah gave up 91 runs in the match but took nine wickets overall. The 30-year-old outperformed Pat Cummins, Kagiso Rabada, and Ravichandran Ashwin following his outstanding performance, making history as the fourth bowler from India to reach the top spot in the Test bowling rankings. Bumrah, however, achieved another first: he became the first Indian pacer to ever hold the top rank on the list. Clarke referred to Bumrah as “a freak” while praising him.

“What can you say, Bumrah? He’s a freak. It’s incredible how skilled he is in these conditions, which are never ideal for fast bowling. According to former Australia captain Clarke on news sources, “He is a freak.”

Ashwin’s 11-month reign was interrupted by Bumrah, who was awarded Player of the Match after helping India tie the five-match series with a 106-run triumph. With 499 Test wickets under his belt, Ashwin now holds the third-place ranking.

Looking to set a new record, England started day four at 67 for one. Throughout the long afternoon session, they were bowled out for 292. India took nine wickets in two sessions to recover the five-match series, and the visiting team’s no-holds-barred strategy, which has generally worked, did not work this time. On February 15, Rajkot will host the third Test.
