Shreyas Iyer (113*) and Ishan Kishan (93) top scorers in India’s win by seven wickets
Ishan Kishan was left on his haunches after he fell on 93. However, he got applause from his home crowd, having scored that many runs in just 84 balls in an innings that put India in the driver’s seat. India lost openers Shikhar Dhawan and Shubman Gill within the first nine overs but South Africa had little luck since then. Shreyas Iyer and Kishan quietly gone about building a strong partnership for the third wicket and then accelerated once the stand crossed 100. They both scored half centuries, with this being Iyer’s fifth in the last six matches. The stand was on 161 off 155 when Kishan fell. Earlier, South Africa rode on half centuries from Aiden Markram and Reeza Hendricks to get to a score of 278/7 batting first in Ranchi.
