In April 2006, the Holkar Stadium hosted its first international fixture – a One-Day International match between India and England. The hosts defeated the Eng. side by 7 wickets. The ground later staged its 1st Test match in October 2016 and T20 international in December 2017. Since then, the venue has staged two T20Is, five ODIs and 2Tests.
The last time the Indian cricket team played a T20I at this venue in Indore, the hosts secured a 7-wicket victory over Sri-Lanka in January 2020. The India have won both their T20I matches at Holkar Stadium so far.
he Holkar pitch is a true pitch that offers consistent bounce and carries which will keep the batsmen confident in playing their shots. The stadium has very “short” boundaries and this could add to the woes of bowlers here.
