The Asian Mixed Team Badminton Championships saw India advance to the quarterfinals thanks to victories from P V Sindhu and H S Prannoy in their respective singles bouts.
After defeating Malaysia in Dubai on Thursday, India advanced as group winners to the quarterfinals of the Asia Mixed Team Badminton Championships. Star shuttlers P V Sindhu and H S Prannoy won their respective singles matchups. In the men’s singles match, which lasted an hour and ten minutes, Prannoy started the proceedings for India in their final Group B match. He had to battle hard against world no. 4 Zii Jia Lee before surprising him 18-21 21-13 25-23.
In contrast, Sindhu overcame lower-ranked Ling Ching Wong 21-13 21-17 in just 34 minutes in the women’s singles match to give India a 2-0 lead.
