The first batch of Indian players to go for the United States has arrived in New York to participate in the forthcoming ICC event, the T20 World Cup 2024.
The first batch of Indian players to fly to the United States ahead of the T20 World Cup 2024 has arrived in New York to participate in the ICC tournament. The Indian cricket squad, led by captain Rohit Sharma, pace maker Jasprit Bumrah, and top-ranked T20I hitter Suryakumar Yadav, departed for the United States earlier on Saturday. A video of the players traveling to the US for the next T20 World Cup was posted on the official social media account of the Board of Control for Cricket in India. The Indian cricket players were seen getting on the team vehicle and departing the New York airport in the footage.
On X, the BCCI posted, “Touchdown New York! #Team India has arrived for the #T20WorldCup.”
The T20 World Cup campaign of Team India kicks off on June 5 at the recently built Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York against Ireland. The match between India and Pakistan is scheduled for June 9. They will play their final Group A matches against co-hosts the USA on June 12 and Canada on June 15 later in the tournament.
