This is the first time the Indian Davis Cup team has visited Pakistan since 1964.
The Indian Davis Cup squad has arrived at Islamabad Sports Complex for their Davis Cup encounter against archrivals Pakistan, which will begin on Saturday. The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has granted visas to the Indian Davis Cup team, including support personnel, to compete in the Davis Cup World Group -1 Playoff Tie between Pakistan and India. The World Group 1 play-off match is planned for February 3 and 4 at the Islamabad Sports Complex.
“The Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi has issued visas to the Indian Davis Cup team, including support staff, to compete in the Davis Cup World Group -1 Playoff Tie between Pakistan and India,” according to a statement provided by the Pakistan High Commission.
The Indian Davis Cup team has traveled to Pakistan for the first time since 1964.
Previously, the All India Tennis Association (AITA) selected a six-member Indian tennis team for the Davis Cup 2024 World Group I play-off versus Pakistan.
Former player Rohit Rajpal will continue as the Indian Davis Cup team’s non-playing captain, with Zeeshan Ali as coach.
However, the group will be without veteran Rohan Bopanna. Bopanna, 43, played his final Davis Cup match against Morocco in September, and India won 4-1.

The Indian tennis team’s best results in the Davis Cup were in 1966, 1974, and 1987, when they placed second.
