In a nail-biting final, the Indian women’s compound team came from behind to defeat their Chinese Taipei competitors by one point, winning a second gold medal in archery at the Asian Games on Thursday. Jyothi Surekha Vennam, Aditi Swami, and Parneet Kaur, the top-seeded team and defending world champions, shot 60 out of 60 in a flawless final end to defeat their third-seeded opponents 230-229 in the final three arrows to win their sixth medal in archery.

India has guaranteed themselves at least five medals in archery at the continental championship thanks to this.
India has also surpassed their previous best performance, which came in Incheon in 2014, when they took home one gold, one silver, and one bronze medal.
Deotale and Verma have secured two medals by advancing to an all-Indian final in men’s compound individual, while Jyothi has secured at least a silver by advancing to the women’s compound individual summit battle.
Earlier, India defeated their fourth-seeded opponents 233-219 to advance to the gold medal game against Chinese Taipei.
The top-seeded Indian three also cruised through the quarterfinals, defeating lower-ranked Hong Kong 231-220.
The Indonesian trio of Ratih Zilizati Fadhly, Syahara Khoerunisa, and Sri Ranti advanced to the semi-finals after defeating Kazakhstan 232-229.
The Indians put their opponents under immediate strain with a flawless start, hitting all tens on their first six arrows as their competitors slumped to 51 to give up a nine-point lead.
From that point on, Indonesia was unable to rebound, while India’s Parneet Kaur, their lowest-ranked qualifier, stepped up in a big way as India finished with a commanding 14-point victory.
