Due to her ongoing ankle ailment, two-time Olympic medalist PV Sindhu will not compete in the National Games, but the star shutter will be present at the opening ceremony.
Along with other athletes, Sindhu will be in Gujarat for the opening ceremony on September 29. Sindhu suffered an ankle injury during the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham but is now on the road to recovery.
“It is terrible that my injuries will prevent me from participating in the Games. I would have unquestionably represented my state (Telangana) if I had been in shape “said Sindhu.
“Everyone I’ve spoken to is enthused about the National Games, which are a fantastic chance for all participants. The badminton bouts will undoubtedly be highly interesting.”
Sindhu is the representative of Indian badminton. She won a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and a bronze medal at the Olympics in Tokyo.
