Inter Milan advanced to a potential Italian Cup semi-final clash with archrival Juventus after defeating Atalanta 1-0 on Tuesday.
Inter Milan advanced to the Italian Cup semi-finals against archrival Juventus after the holders defeated Atalanta 1-0 on Tuesday. Matteo Darmian scored the only goal 11 minutes after halftime, his low strike across Juan Musso enough to put Inter ahead in a tight quarter-final at the San Siro. In the April two-legged semi-finals, Simone Inzaghi’s side will face either troubled Juve or Lazio, with the pair meeting in Turin on Thursday. Inter won their eighth Italian Cup last season after defeating Juventus in the final.
The other side of the draw will be decided on Wednesday, when Fiorentina hosts Torino and Roma hosts Cremonese in the Italian capital.
Inter survived a difficult test against Atalanta, a direct rival for a place in next season’s Champions League.
