The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the fifth game of the Indian Premier League 2023 on Sunday (April 2) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. Last season, the Royal Challengers ended fourth after winning eight of 14 games and qualifying for the playoffs for the third time in a row. They made some wise decisions during the mini-auction in December of last year. They paid INR 1.9 crores to sign English speedster Reece Topley and INR 3.2 crores to sign Will Jacks. Due to a thigh injury, Jacks has been ruled out of the competition and has been replaced by Michael Bracewell.RCB met the Mumbai Indians once last season and won by seven wickets.

They won only four of their 14 contests this season, marking the first time MI had won fewer than five games. They acquired Jason Behrendorff from the RCB prior to last year’s mini-auction. Cameron Green was purchased in the auction for INR 17.5 crores, making him the sale’s second most expensive player in history. In the auction, they selected seven more competitors. MI will be without Jasprit Bumrah this year, who has been ruled out of the competition and will be substituted by Sandeep Warrier.
