The Indian Premier League franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore has changed its name to Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The announcement was made during Tuesday’s RCB Unbox event at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The team management hopes that a stronger connection with the city’s residents would result from the new moniker.
The new moniker was revealed by RCB captains Smriti Mandhana of the women’s squad, Faf du Plessis of the men’s team, and star batsman Virat Kohli.
At RCB’s home arena, the news was made in front of a full house. against March 22, RCB takes against Chennai Super Kings in the opening game of the 2024 Indian Premier League.
