Organizing the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the United Arab Emirates is an option that the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is looking at. A few BCCI executives are in the United Arab Emirates investigating the potential of relocating the second half of the Indian Premier League to the Gulf nation, according to a Times of India story. Since the General Election dates may conflict with the second half of the IPL, a decision may need to be made. Saturday, March 16, is anticipated to see the Election Commission declare the election date.
“On Saturday at 3:30 p.m., the Indian Election Commission will declare the election timetable. The BCCI will next determine whether or not to relocate to Dubai. A BCCI source was quoted by TOI as saying, “A few senior BCCI officials are currently in Dubai to investigate the possibility of holding the second half of the IPL in Dubai.”
There have been a lot of rumors circulating that certain teams have already requested the players’ passports.
