On April 16, the owners of the ten Indian Premier League (IPL) teams will gather informally in Ahmedabad at the invitation of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). The meeting will happen outside of the Delhi Capitals vs. Gujarat Titans game at Narendra Modi Stadium.
An unofficial meeting has been invited to the IPL owners. An agenda isn’t in place. All stakeholders should get together now that the IPL is entering its second month, a BCCI official told PTI.
The major auction, which is scheduled for later this year, is likely to spark concerns about player retention and a potential rise in the auction purse, which is now worth Rs. 100 crore. The meeting will be attended by BCCI secretary Jay Shah, president Roger Binny, and the IPL chairman.
