Cricket Ireland has officially confirmed its maiden men’s trip of Pakistan in August and September of next year. While the specific fixture for the white-ball tour is still to be determined, Cricket Ireland has confirmed that they will travel to Pakistan next year for a tour tentatively slated for August/September.
In August and September of the following year, Cricket Ireland formally confirmed their first men’s tour of Pakistan. Cricket Ireland declared that they will travel to Pakistan in August or September of the following year, however the specific timetable for the white-ball tour is still pending. In order to be ready for the ICC T20 World Cup next month, the two teams are now playing a three-match T20I series in Ireland. PCB Chair Mohsin Naqvi met with Cricket Ireland Chair Brian MacNeice to talk about the team’s 2025 visit to Pakistan.
Ireland’s men’s squad will make its maiden trip to Pakistan the following year, according to MacNeice, who also mentioned that the talks were constructive.
Chairman Naqvi was warmly welcomed to Dublin, and our discussion was quite productive. It is a clear sign of the two boards’ excellent cooperation that the PCB chairman’s attendance in Ireland was greatly appreciated, according to MacNeice, who was quoted by the ICC.
Men’s, women’s, and Wolves-level fixtures were among the many topics discussed throughout the extensive conversation. We were able to agree on a men’s visit for the next year, which I think is great. This will be another historic first, following our senior women’s tour to Pakistan in 2022,” he continued.
Ireland and Pakistan are now level in their ongoing series, with Tuesday’s matchup in Dublin serving as the series’ third and final game.
“Throughout their time in Ireland, the Pakistani team has been a great representation of their nation for the past week, engaging with supporters with great generosity. Both tomorrow’s series finale and, of course, our meeting at the T20 World Cup next month are highly anticipated,” MacNeice continued.
“Chairman Cricket Ireland said that the Irish team would visit Pakistan next year in August-September for a Test series and would also review the possibility of a women’s team tour to Pakistan soon,” according to a statement issued by the PCB.
Pakistan is currently in Ireland for a three-match T20 International series. The series is now tied at 1-1, and the series decider will be played on Tuesday to determine the winner.
