Ishan Kishan sent a strong message to Agarkar about his “unfinished business” following his fairytale century and Duleep Trophy comeback

Selectors appear to be receiving a subliminal message from Ishan Kishan’s Instagram post.

Ishan Kishan has experienced quite the journey over the past 365 days. His sights are focused on the 2023 World Cup. He was a member of India’s championship-winning Asia Cup team around this time last year. Ishan had ended Shikhar Dhawan’s chances of a comeback the year before by smashing the fastest ODI double-century, off just 126 balls. Having overtaken Sanju Samson in the rankings, he posed a direct threat to Shubman Gill in the opening position.

But ever since, the child has experienced an incredibly cruel turn of circumstances. He quit the India tour of South Africa in the middle of the previous year and hasn’t returned to the team. Ishan requested a vacation, and the BCCI terminated his central contract in February due to his intransigence in not playing domestic cricket. This caused him to fall out of favour for an extended period of time. Ishan has played in just two matches in the past seven months, both in the Duleep Trophy Round 2 encounter and the Buchi Babu competition. The IPL excluded.

Ishan made an incredible recovery for India C, smashing a century with 111 off 126 balls. He can only handle the controllables. Ishan made it obvious that he is aiming to regain his spot in the Indian squad with 14 fours and three sixes. Although Ishan’s century against India D is a promising beginning, he still needs to hit a ton of runs in order to regain the selectors’ confidence before he can once again mingle with the big boys.
