Star defender Harmanpreet Singh described being nominated for the FIH Player of the Year Award this year as a tremendous honour and a reward of his years of dedication to the national hockey team.
Harmanpreet won the top prize, his first in the 2020–21 competition, and was a member of the team that won a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham this year. He also won a bronze medal in the Asian Champions Trophy in Dhaka in 2021.
“Being nominated once more for the FIH Player of the Year Award is a great honour for me. I’ve always done my best to support the team’s success, and it’s wonderful when your efforts are acknowledged by the FIH Star Awards “In a press release, Harmanpreet was cited as saying.
Additionally, he said, “I would like to congratulate all the other nominees in the Indian Men’s and Women’s Teams.”
