The only other bowlers who have crossed the line are Muttiah Muralitharan and Shane Warne.James Anderson started the match with 698 wickets and broke the record after removing Shubman Gill and Kuldeep Yadav during India’s first innings.
Anderson is already the highest Test wicket taker among pacers, having surpassed Glenn Mcgrath’s mark of 563 during the 2018 Oval Test against India.
