On Saturday, James Anderson surpassed all other pace bowlers in the annals of international cricket.
This achievement was made by the legendary ageless pacer, 40, against South Africa in the second Test at Old Trafford in Manchester.
In order to accomplish this, Anderson defeated Simon Harmer for 16 off 48 balls. Harmer’s stumps couldn’t stop Anderson’s brilliant delivery, which sent the bails flying. The Old Trafford fans erupted in celebration of the milestone the legendary pacer had achieved after the wicket.
He has now surpassed Glenn McGrath (949 wickets) to reach the top spot among pacers in the game. Anderson has captured 951 wickets in 287 games.
After passing McGrath, he is now the fourth-most successful bowler in all of international cricket.
