which opens the possibility of Rishabh Pant being selected
Mohammed Shami, the premier pacer, has been confirmed by BCCI Secretary Jay Shah to miss the ICC T20 World Cup. Shami will miss the 2024 Indian Premier League while he heals from an ankle injury. The speedster is reportedly planning a return for the IND vs. BAN Test series.
“Shami surgery is done; he is back in India,” BCCI Secretary Jay Shah stated during a conversation. Shami will probably make his comeback for the home series versus Bangladesh. KL Rahul is at the NCA and has begun his rehabilitation after needing an injection.
He also provided an update on Pant’s health and the likelihood that he will rejoin the Indian cricket team for the T20 World Cup in 2024.
He is keeping up well and hitting effectively. Very soon, we’ll deem him fit. We will be really happy if he can represent us in the T20 World Cup. He is really helpful to us.
Shami was absent from both the five-test series against England and the India tour of South Africa. Shami will miss the Indian Premier League as well because rehabilitation from surgery takes a long time.
