England player Joe Root shared his thoughts on the captain of the Rajasthan Royals Sanju Samson, and his teammates Ashwin and Riyan Parag.
In a way, the job of Sanju Samson for the Rajasthan Royals is both easy and difficult at the same time. He has players like Jos Buttler, Joe Root, and Ravichandran Ashwin, who come with a lot of leadership experience. Hence, he can turn to them at anytime for guidance, but on the other side, he also has to create a position for himself to lead these champion cricketers. The England batsman, who is going to make his maiden appearance in the IPL in 2023, said that the captain of RR is an exciting prospect.
Root said, “Last year was an exceptional year for the franchise, and I’ve always enjoyed watching Sanju play.” “I think he is a very good talent and seems to keep going every year as a player and as a leader also.”
Sanju led RR to the finals in the last edition of the IPL, and many even believed that RR had the best team in the tournament and could even end their trophy drought this year.
While talking about the homey environment in the RR setup, Joe said, “It’s a real family environment.” Everyone seems to want to create that feeling around things so that it’s more than just performances on the field. It’s been a very warm welcome from the very first call; they said they were delighted to get me in the auction, and I am very looking forward to catching up further down the line.
