Due to an injury, England batsman Jonny Bairstow will not play in the Twenty20 World Cup, and out-of-sorts opener Jason Roy has been left off the team for the competition in Australia that starts next month.
Bairstow was initially chosen, but the England and Wales Cricket Board later announced that he had been eliminated from the remainder of the summer and the T20 World Cup due to a bizarre accident he had on Friday while playing golf in Leeds.
In a post on Instagram, Bairstow claimed that he had slipped on the golf course and had an injury that required surgery.
