Australia’s fast bowler Josh Hazlewood has acknowledged that winning the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series at home is the only thing the hosts still need to check off their list. Following their 2-0 victory over India in the 2014–15 series, Australia has been without the coveted trophy at home for a long time. Due to sanctions for ball-tampering, Australia was forced to play without Steve Smith and David Warner. After losing to India in the 2018–19 series, they remarkably lost the 2020–21 series 2-1 in Adelaide, even though they had bowled the visitors out for 36 in the second innings.Many players have never triumphed over India in a Test series. That’s very amazing to say. We should win virtually every series here at home, so that’s one we absolutely need to check off.

After missing last year’s final, where the team defeated India at The Oval to win the title, Hazlewood hopes to play in the 2025 World Test Championship final at Lord’s in June. Hazlewood will be a part of Australia’s next T20I and ODI tour of the United Kingdom.
