but Kane Williamson receives a standing ovation for his 100th Test.

On the first day of the ongoing Test match between Australia and New Zealand, Kane Williamson was greeted with a standing ovation as he came out to bat.In addition to playing in their 100th Test match of their careers, Tim Southee and Kane Williamson both made an appearance on the field with their children prior to the opening session, making it an incredible moment for the New Zealand cricket team. The second Test match of the two-match series between the Black Caps and Australia got underway in Christchurch on Friday.

Carrying their kids, the two veterans made their way outside. Williamson, however, was given a standing ovation by the Hagley Oval audience despite falling short of their expectations. Having scored just 17 runs off of 37 balls, the hitter was removed cheaply. Williamson played down the wrong line to get struck on the pads after taking a full delivery from Josh Hazlewood in the middle, and the umpire awarded him LBW.

The three hitter examined the call, but Ball Tracking indicated three reds as the home team reeled at 84/5, and UltraEdge verified there was no bat involved.

Hazlewood was in scorching form, dismissing New Zealand for 162 after removing Tom Latham (38), Williamson, Rachin Ravindra (4), Daryl Mitchell (4), and Matt Henry (29). Taking three wickets, Mitchell Starc demonstrated his excellent form. In the meantime, in his 100th Test, Southee had some strong batting form. In addition to becoming the highest partnership of the innings, he and Henry scored 56 runs for the ninth wicket.

In 100 Test matches since making his debut in November 2010, Williamson has amassed 8692 runs with a best score of 251. Throughout his illustrious career in Test cricket, he has amassed 32 tons, six double hundreds, and 33 fifties. He led his country to victory in the 2021 World T20 Championship and remains the all-time greatest run scorer in Test matches for New Zealand.

Southee, meanwhile, made his Test debut in March 2008 and has since claimed 378 wickets in 100 Test matches, including 15 five-wicket and ten-wicket hauls.
