The Emirates team struggled against the more experienced Nepal bowlers led by Barma (3/19), finishing at 115 for eight.
Nepal defeated UAE by six wickets in the Women’s T20 Asia Cup on Friday, with opener Samjhana Khadka scoring a breezy, unbeaten fifty and bowler Indu Barma taking three wickets.Khadka (71 not out, 45b, 11×4) played a key role in helping her team surpass the target of 116 in 16.1 overs.
The Emirates team was unable to contend with Nepal’s more experienced bowlers, led by Barma (3/19), and finished at 115 for eight.
Nepal, on the other hand, had to endure some nerve-racking moments when they lost three wickets to off-spinner Kavisha Egodage (3/12), halting their momentum following the Power Play.
Khadka, on the other hand, led Nepal’s pursuit on his own, taking shots all over the park.
Earlier, Khushi Sharma (36, 39 balls, 2×4) and Egodage (22, 26b, 2×4) halted a slide after UAE reached 38 for three after the Power Play.
However, their efforts took far too many balls, and none of the other hitters could provide impetus to the UAE innings, which was hampered by some accurate Nepal bowling.
