In their final league game in the Ranji Trophy Elite Group C, which starts on January 30, Karnataka will play table-toppers Haryana. KL Rahul selected to play in that match.

India batsman KL Rahul will return to the Ranji Trophy after being selected in Karnataka’s team for their league stage encounter against Haryana, which will take place from January 30 to February 2 at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. Rahul’s elbow niggle prevented him from playing in Karnataka’s victory over Punjab, but he is now healthy and ready for the team’s match against Haryana, who are atop Elite Group C, which they must win to increase their hopes of making it to the knockout stages.

It is also known that Rahul will spend Tuesday and Wednesday practicing with the Karnataka squad. The last time Rahul, 32, played in a Ranji Trophy game was against Bengal at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata in February 2020. During the Duleep Trophy in Bengaluru in September of last year, he played his final domestic red-ball match for India A.

Due to Rahul’s return, Karnataka will be fully prepared for their match against Haryana, including capped Indian players Mayank Agarwal, Devdutt Padikkal, and Prasidh Krishna. Pacer Vidwath Kaverappa, who has been sidelined since the Duleep Trophy in September of last year due to an injury, has also been included in the team.

Ahead of his first Ranji Trophy debut since 2012, talismanic batsman Virat Kohli is scheduled to workout with the Delhi squad on Tuesday. According to earlier reports from IANS, Kohli had informed the DDCA of his availability for their last group match against Railways, which was scheduled to take place at the Arun Jaitley Stadium between January 30 and February 2.

Due to a neck ache, Kohli had chosen to skip Delhi’s previous game, in which they were defeated by Saurashtra by 10 wickets in Rajkot. However, images of Kohli training at a facility outside of Mumbai under the tutelage of former India and Royal Challengers Bengaluru batting coach Sanjay Bangar have been all over social media in recent days.Other Indian players scheduled to participate in the Ranji Trophy’s final league phase include pacer Mohammed Siraj, who will play for Hyderabad against Vidarbha in Nagpur, and all-rounder Riyan Parag, who will captain Assam against Saurashtra in Rajkot following surgery for a shoulder injury.
