KL Rahul scored a brilliant 75 but India went down fighting against Western Australia in the second practice match at the WACA Ground in Perth. Chasing a taraget of 169, India kept on losing wickets at regular intervals and were eventually reduced to 132/8. Barring Rahul, none of the Indian batters failed to make any noteworthy contribution. Earlier, Nick Hobson and D’Arcy Short hit fifties as Western Australia managed to post a total of 168/8 in 20 overs. Hobson (64) and Short (52) stitched 110 runs for the second wicket before Indian bowlers made a strong comeback to restrict Western Australia under 170. Ravichandran Ashwin took three wickets while Harshal Patel also bagged two wickets. Earlier, India were asked to bowl first in their second practice match at the Western Australia Cricket Association Ground in Perth.

KL Rahul will lead the team despite the presence of skipper Rohit Sharma. The visitors won the first match by 13 runs as Suryakumar Yadav played a brilliant innings of 52 off 35 balls. Virat Kohli and Rahul were rested for the match, while Rohit Sharma and Rishabh Pant failed to score runs. He will be hoping for a better performance this time.
