The ultras booed PSG’s departing sensation Kylian Mbappe ahead of his final home game with the club. Mbappe failed to produce a win in his farewell game, as PSG lost 3-1 to Toulouse.
During his final home game at Parc des Princes on Sunday, May 12, a portion of the crowd jeered Kylian Mbappe, the departing star of PSG. The fans became enraged with Mbappe after he revealed that he would be leaving the team on a free transfer in 2024. The 25-year-old’s name was revealed before to the game during PSG’s lineup announcement, and the team’s supporters expressed their admiration for the player.
One of the stadium’s supporters captured video footage of the incident. In addition, the ultras booed both Lionel Messi and Neymar before their leaving earlier this season. Mbappe’s departure grew more agonizing after the squad lost their home game against Toulouse.
“This loss ruins the celebration a little. PSG forward Ousmane Dembele told Canal+, “Even as a champion, it’s always frustrating to lose like that in front of your home crowd.”
“We need to rethink things after a defeat and not lose like that at home, even if we are champions.”
After a precise clearance from goalkeeper Arnau Tenas, Kylian Mbappe scored the scoring after eight minutes. Mbappe, who stated on Friday that he will leave PSG at the end of the season, finished the play beautifully.
Dembele spoke highly of Mbappe, saying, “He did so much, he gave so much to the club.”
“He’s a PSG legend; we’re proud of what he’s accomplished. He’s grown up at PSG brilliantly. We’re pleased with him.
Five minutes later, Toulouse pulled even through a wonderful close-range attempt from Thijs Dalling. Then, in the 68th minute, Yann Gboho gave the visitors the lead with a fantastic curling effort into the top right corner.
Toulouse, who sit tenth in the rankings with forty-three points, won the match thanks to a goal from Frank Magri in stoppage time.
Prior to their last league matchup against Metz and the French Cup final on May 25, PSG travels to Nice on Wednesday.
