The complete list of sold and unsold players in the IPL auction 2023 is provided by Sportstar, including wicketkeepers, all-rounders, bowlers, and batsmen.
The ongoing IPL 2023 auction is taking place at the Grand Hyatt hotel in Kochi, and England all-rounder Sam Curran is now the most expensive player.
He has also surpassed Chris Morris’ INR 16.25 crore purchase price from the Rajasthan Royals ahead of the 2021 season to become the most expensive player in league history. Later, Cameron Green did too, with the Mumbai Indians paying INR 17.5 crore for the Australian. As Chennai Super Kings snagged him, Ben Stokes tied Morris’ record. He will be viewed as MS Dhoni’s probable successor because the Indian captain may be playing his final season in front of the Chepauk fans.
Punjab Kings broke the bank for Curran with INR 18.5 crore. His base price was INR 2 crore. MI and Royal Challengers Bangalore entered the bidding race for Curran as his price quickly reached Rs 7 crore, at which point RR joined the bidding.
Shortly after, RCB withdrew as RR and MI carried on their competitive bidding war. Soon after, CSKs, PBKS, and Lucknow Super Giants joined the battle before Punjab ultimately won.
Nicholas Pooran of the West Indies, was sold to Lucknow Super Giants for INR 16 crore, eight times his base price, became the most expensive wicketkeeper ever.
Kane Williamson on Friday became the first player to be picked in the auction. Defending champion Gujarat Titans bought the New Zealand batter at his base price of INR 2 crore.
Notably, Joe Root, Shakib Al Hasan and Rilee Rossouw found no takers
