At the upcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, Manika Batra represents one of India’s best medal prospects.
Manika Batra, a top-ranked Indian table tennis player, misplaced her luggage, which contained sports equipment, on a flight from Peru to India operated by KLM Airlines. She has asked the government for assistance in finding the luggage. World No. 35 asking for assistance from Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia Batra claimed she was flying business class on the national carrier of the Netherlands and never anticipated losing priority-tagged luggage.
“What an unbelievable letdown from @KLM! My vital sports gear for an upcoming competition was among the priority-tagged luggage that was misplaced on a business class trip, Batra tweeted through her official account.
“Airport staff offered no ideas or answers, and they had no idea where my suitcase was. Please, @JM_Scindia sir, assist. After competing in a WTT Contender tournament in Lima, Batra was flying back to India (August 6-7 travel) through Amsterdam.
At the 2018 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, she represents one of India’s best chances at winning a medal.
The seventh-ranked mixed doubles team of Batra and the seasoned G Sathiyan is anticipated to lead India’s effort at the Asian Games from September 23 to October 8.
