The legend of Team India, Sachin Tendulkar, penned an emotional post for his late father on the latter’s birth anniversary on Monday. Sharing a picture of his father on Instagram, Tendulkar revealed that his father was caring but never strict. He added that his ‘Baba’ had given him unconditional support to achieve his dreams.
The Instagram post of Sachin stated, “My father was always caring but never strict. He let me choose what I wanted to do in life and supported me unconditionally in my quest to achieve my dreams. I think the way he raised all his children—always giving us love and freedom—is an excellent lesson in parenting. His thinking was ahead of his time, and that’s one of the million reasons why I love him so much. He is why I am. Happy birthday, Baba. I miss you every day.
Sachin noted that the way his father brought his children up was a ‘parenting lesson’ and that it was one in a million reasons why he loved his late father so much. Sachin holds the record for amassing the most runs in a career—18426 runs. With 49 ODI hundreds to his name, the Master Blaster currently sits on top of the table of batsmen with the most ODI 100s.
