England’s Champions Trophy preparations were hampered by Jofra Archer’s cut hand, Brydon Carse’s hamstring injury, and Jamie Overton’s calf injury.

Following criticism of the team’s preparation for the series, which it lost 3-0, coach Brendon McCullum stated that injuries in the squad prevented England from training before the final two One Day Internationals against India.England’s preparations for this month’s Champions Trophy were hampered by bowler Jofra Archer’s cut to his hand and bowling all-rounders Jamie Overton and Brydon Carse’s absences due to calf and hamstring problems, respectively.

In order to be fresh for the Champions Trophy starting next week, McCullum claimed the team did not train.

The former New Zealand captain told reporters, “Keeping guys fresh is just as important, especially when you have injuries. Guys have come from a lot of cricket.””A lot of training has been done. Due to injuries in the camp, we have somewhat backed off players to ensure that our team is healthy.

After the visitor’s 4-1 loss in the previous T20 series and a poor start in the ODIs, former England captain Kevin Pietersen criticized him for not training enough.

“Sports injuries are inevitable, and this schedule is similar to every bilateral series that has ever been played,” Pietersen posted on X on Thursday.

“Batters are continuing to practice their spin-playing skills and bat against net bowlers despite injuries. And that’s where they ought to have gone to get better. This one rescued my career from spin, so believe me.Before England’s Champions Trophy campaign begins on February 22 against Australia, McCullum stated the team will train in Pakistan for three days.

“We’re looking forward to a new challenge and hope to have a fully fit squad to choose from in Pakistan.” Although it’s been a difficult lesson, he added, “I hope it’s been excellent preparation for the tournament.”
