The Renegades, playing in their first WBBL final, posted a score of 141 for 9 with to key contributions from opener Hayley Matthews (69), Georgia Wareham (21) and Naomi Stalenberg (16). Rain fell during the fourth over, halting play for half an hour. As a result, Heat was given a revised target of 98 from 12 overs.
Molineux disqualified opener Georgia Redmayne (16) soon after the match resumed. Matthew reduced the Heat to 37 for 5 with a double-wicket over, dismissing Knott (7) and Laura Harris (0).Jonassen (44 not out) and Lauren Winfield-Hill (3) raised the score to 68 before Deandra Dottin removed the latter. Nicola Hancock (13 not out) joined her skipper in the middle, with 30 runs required off 13 balls.
Molineux conceded just singles in the first five balls of the last over, while defending 19 runs. Jonassen hit six on the penultimate delivery, but it was too late.
