Michael Slater, a former cricket player for Australia, was placed under arrest pending charges of assault and stalking

On Monday, the Queensland Maroochydore Magistrates Court heard a mention of Michael Slater’s case. The claimed victim was not named in the report.

Michael Slater, a former Australian cricket player and broadcaster, was charged with common assault and stalking and was placed under police custody on remand.

The 54-year-old Slater is accused of over a dozen offenses, including common assault, unlawful stalking or intimidation, breaking into a house with the intent to commit a crime at night, assault resulting in bodily damage, and choking or suffocation, according to the Guardian.

On Monday, Slater’s case was discussed in the Queensland Maroochydore Magistrates Court. The claimed victim was not named in the report.

On account of the alleged offenses at the Sunshine Coast on various occasions between December 5 of last year and April 12, he is being charged with 19 counts in all.

After alleged domestic violence episodes that occurred “over several days,” the local police revealed last Friday that they had arrested a 54-year-old man from Noosa Heads on the Sunshine Coast.

Slater was additionally accused of ten charges of “contravening a domestic violence order” in addition to violating his bail. 

Between 1993 and 2003, the former right-handed Australian opener participated in 42 ODIs and 74 Test matches.
