New Zealand beat Afghanistan by 149 runs
New Zealand beat Afghanistan 149 runs to the credit of brilliant stroke plays from Glenn Phillips and Tom Latham, as well as three-wicket hauls from Mitchell Santner and Lockie Ferguson. With Phillips and Latham scoring 71 and 68 runs, respectively, New Zealand amassed 288/6 after being asked to bat first. As they continued to lose wickets at regular intervals, Afghanistan was unable to go even near to the mark later on. While Trent Boult claimed two wickets, Santner and Ferguson each claimed three wickets. Rahmat Shah scored 36 runs to lead Afghanistan’s top scorer.
