Shami also talked candidly about his decision to sit from the 2019 World Cup semifinal despite his outstanding play.”I didn’t play the first four or five games in 2019.” I claimed a hat-trick in the following game, five wickets in the following game, and four wickets in the following game. It was similar in 2023. I didn’t play in the first few games, but after that, I took four, five, and six wickets once more,” he remarked.
“It always baffles me why every team requires players who can put up good performances. In three games, I claimed 13 wickets. What else are you hoping for from me? I don’t know the answers, and I don’t have any questions.
