MS Dhoni’s Instagram post of him driving a tractor in Ranchi was his first since January 2021.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni is a household name in India, and his fan base is widespread. For a decade, the Ranchi-born cricketer led the national team to all three major ICC titles. His success as captain of both India and the Chennai Super Kings places him among the best captains of his generation.
The right-handed batter shared an Instagram video of himself driving a tractor and ploughing his Ranchi farm. “Nice to learn something new, but it took way too long to finish the work,” the caption read.
The post, like any picture or video of the former captain, sparked a social media frenzy. Former Indian cricketer commented on the post, saying, “I know how to farm, please let me know when you need me.” Ravindra Jadeja, an all-rounder for the Indian team, commented, “No number plate.”
The post received a lot of attention, garnering over 25 lakh views, 13 lakh likes, and 37000 comments. Dhoni has 108 Instagram posts but 40 million followers. The post in which he announced his retirement from international cricket received the most likes.
Dhoni, who had led CSK since the competition’s inception in 2008, stepped down as captain at the start of IPL 2022 and was replaced by Ravindra Jadeja.
Because Jadeja was forced to withdraw from the competition due to a rib injury, the decision backfired, and after a string of defeats, Dhoni took over as captain once more. Dhoni will play in the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL), which could be his final appearance in the world’s largest T20 league.
