Harbhajan believes it will be impossible to halt the Mumbai Indians this season if the dressing room is united.
Harbhajan Singh, a former India spinner, believes that “unity” in the dressing room will be critical for the Mumbai Indians (MI) in the forthcoming Indian Premier League seasons. MI fans have been divided since the franchises chose to appoint Hardik Pandya as captain, with long-serving skipper Rohit Sharma expected to play behind him. There were rumors of a breach between Rohit and Hardik, who greeted each other with an awkward hug during MI’s training session on Wednesday.
Harbhajan believes it will be difficult to stop MI this season if the dressing room remains cohesive. The former Michigan player also stated that changing captains should have been avoided this year. “We hope MI plays as a unit, because if they do, stopping them will be difficult.” The main issue for Hardik and the management is to bring the team together. As far as I know, Rohit Sharma is a really basic person. He will never discuss this decision in public. But one thing is certain: a five-time winner and a man who nearly won the World Cup… it is startling. Perhaps this choice could have been postponed by a year. Harbhajan also addressed the speculation about Rohit’s form, stating that the former MI captain might be in for his greatest season in the IPL, adding that the experienced batsman will have a point to prove.
“Rohit Sharma has made no statement on this entire saga. He’s a quiet person who will simply move on from this. I believe he will give it his all while supporting Hardik and the squad. Inside, there may be some suffering. Maybe this is Rohit Sharma’s greatest season in the IPL. Because you occasionally have to demonstrate that you are still quite capable.
