Following the news, MI shared a photo of Dhoni and Rohit wearing their respective IPL team shirts together. The franchise captioned the image with a yellow and blue heart emoji with an infinity symbol between them.
“Before the TATA IPL 2024 season begins, MS Dhoni has given Ruturaj Gaikwad the captaincy of the Chennai Super Kings. Ruturaj joined the Chennai Super Kings in 2019 and has participated in 52 IPL games. The squad is excited for the next campaign, according to CSK.
The team needed to ensure a seamless transition in the veteran player’s presence because there are rumors that Dhoni will retire at the end of the season.
Gaikwad made his CSK debut in 2020 and has since played 52 games for the squad. He has represented India in six ODIs and 19 T20s.
