In the women’s 10m air pistol shooting competition at the National Games in Dehradun on Wednesday, Suruchi of Haryana took home the gold medal with an incredible score of 245.7. Simranpreet Kaur Brar of Punjab won the bronze medal with a score of 218.8, while Palak, who is also from Haryana, took home the silver medal with 243.6. The competition at the Trishool Shooting Range was fierce that day. For a spot in the final round of eight shooters, 33 competitors from different states competed in the men’s 50m rifle 3 positions event.
Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar (598), Chain Singh (594), Niraj Kumar (591) and Nishan Bhudha (589), Maharashtra’s Swapnil Suresh Kusale (588), Uttar Pradesh’s Akhil Sheoran (587), Madhya Pradesh’s Goldi Gurjar (587), and SSCB’s Ganga Singh (587) advanced to the final following a fiercely contested qualifying round.
Thursday is the last round of the men’s 50-meter rifle three-position competition.
