Nepal and Oman qualified for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024 after reaching the final of the Asia qualifiers on Friday in Nepal.
In the semifinals, the host defeated the UAE by eight wickets, while Oman defeated Bahrain by ten wickets.While this will be Nepal’s first World Cup debut in the competition, which will be contested in the United States of America and the West Indies next year, it will also be Oman’s first appearance in the tournament beyond the preliminary round.
For the first time, the forthcoming event, the ninth since 2007, will feature 20 teams. The teams will be divided into five groups of four, with the top two from each group qualifying for the Super 8s.
So far, 18 teams have gained qualifying for the tournament. The final two berths will be determined by the Africa Qualifiers, which will take place in Namibia from November 22 to 30.
Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Dominica, Guyana, Saint Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, and Trinidad and Tobago will host games, as will three stadiums in the United States: Dallas, Florida, and New York.
The final of the 2024 T20 World Cup is scheduled on June 30, 2024.
