New Zealand defeated India by 113 runs in the second Test, becoming Tom Latham’s team the first Kiwi team to win on Indian soil.
India suffered a historic Test series defeat to New Zealand, their first at home in 12 years, after losing the second Test by 113 runs in Pune on Saturday.
As a result, Rohit Sharma’s team became the first Indian Test team to lose against England since MS Dhoni’s in 2012-13. The loss also marked New Zealand’s first series victory in India, and only their fourth overall in 38 Tests.
Last week, New Zealand won the series opener in Bengaluru by eight wickets, breaking a 26-year drought in India. Their last two wins before this competition were in 1959 and 1988. Despite winning the inaugural ICC World Test Championship, this is New Zealand’s first away series victory in the WTC era.
