Two-time champions West Indies knocked out in group stage; Ireland qualify for Super 12
The only side in T20WC history to win the trophy twice – West Indies have been knocked out of the 2022 T20 World Cup in the group stage after an embarrassing defeat to Ireland. The Irishmen defeated the Nicholas Pooran-led side by a massive margin of 9-wickets with 15 balls to spare.
With both teams coming into the game knowing it’s a winner takes all clash, Ireland stood up to the challenge and outclassed the 2012 and 2016 Champions in all three departments of the game. The Andrew Balbirnie-led side have got the past group stage of the competition for the first time since 2009.
