According to reports, the Pakistan cricket team is yet to obtain a visa for their trip to India for the ODI World Cup 2023.
Over visa concerns, the Pakistan cricket team’s plans to fly to Dubai before arriving in Hyderabad for the ODI World Cup in India have been scrapped. According to reports, Babar Azam and his guys had scheduled to travel to Dubai for a pre-World Cup team bonding tour, but it was cancelled. The idea had to be scrapped because the Pakistani team was still waiting for visas to fly to India. The Pakistan squad, which is competing in the competition alongside India, is apparently the only one that has not yet obtained its visa.
Prior to travelling to Hyderabad on September 29 for their first preseason match against New Zealand, Pakistan was scheduled to fly to the UAE the following week and stay there for a few days.
However, such preparations have since been abandoned because the Pakistani team will go to Karachi and then fly to Hyderabad the following week, according to a report in ESPNCricinfo. For the first time since 2012–2013, Pakistan will visit India.
Furthermore, since Pakistan’s visit to India for a white-ball series in 2012–13, neither side has played a bilateral series in the other team’s country. In actuality, only two members of the current Pakistani team have previously flown to India for cricket-related duties.
On October 6 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Pakistan will play its first World Cup match against the Netherlands.
Babar Azam was appointed as the team’s captain, and Pakistan released a 15-player roster for the World Cup on Friday.
However, they will be without their standout pacer Naseem Shah, who had a niggling injury during their Asia Cup Super Four match against India. He was later disqualified for leaving the pitch in the middle of his over.
As Naseem’s replacement, Hasan Ali has been added to the team. Shaheen Shah Afridi will be in charge of Pakistan’s famed pace attack. Haris Rauf, Mohammed Waseem, and Hasan Ali will support him.
