KL Rahul was ruled out of the IPL 2023 because of an injury that he sustained during a match against RCB.
Despite the absence of captain KL Rahul, the Lucknow Super Giants have managed to secure their spot in the playoffs of the IPL season 2023. The Rahul-less LSG side defeated Kolkata Knight Riders in a final-over thriller at the Eden Gardens to finish the league phase of the IPL 2023 with 17 points.
With their only one-run win over Kolkata, the Lucknow Super Giants have made it to the playoff stage of the IPL for the second straight time. While celebrating the success of Lucknow after LSG’s final league game of the IPL 2023, Super Giants captain Rahul shared a noteworthy post on Instagram Stories.
The injured Indian opener will also miss the final of the ICC World Test Championship next month. Rohit Sharma-led Team India has replaced Rahul with Mumbai Indians opener Ishan Kishan in their star-studded team for the upcoming final of the Test Championship against Australia. Averaging 34.25, Rahul scored 274 runs in nine matches at the IPL 2023. Krunal Pandya, the Indian all-rounder, is now leading the Lucknow-based franchise in the absence of Rahul.
