Omarzai rises to the top of the all-round rankings, and Kohli takes Rohit’s place as the fourth-ranked batter

After his incredible 84-run thumping of Australia in the Champions Trophy 2025 quarterfinal in Dubai, Indian star Virat Kohli has risen to fourth place in the most recent ICC ODI rankings for batters. The 36-year-old took the place of Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who dropped to fifth place, while Shubman Gill, his opening partner, held the top spot.

After his batting performances at the tournament, Australia’s captain Steven Smith, who declared his retirement from ODIs after the semifinal defeat to India, moved up six spots to 16th place.

Afghan player Azmatullah Omarzai has surpassed his countryman Mohammad Nabi to the top of the ICC’s all-rounder rankings.Omarzai has risen to the top after an incredible ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign that featured a fifty against Australia and his first five-wicket haul against England.

After scoring 126 runs in the Champions Trophy, the 25-year-old was also among the top climbers in the most recent ODI batter rankings. He rose to 24th place (598 rating points), up 12 spots.

The other all-rounder to make significant progress was Axar Patel of India, who rose 17 ranks to 13th place and recorded a career-high 194 ratings points.
