Sunrisers Hyderabad humiliated LSG by 10 wickets, Sanjiv Goenka found himself in the center of attention for his animated conversation with Rahul, which was seen as the skipper making a public display of support.

It appears that everything is going well in the Lucknow Super Giants camp. A week after LSG owner Sanjiv Goenka’s angry video of captain KL Rahul went viral, Goenka and Rahul were spotted giving each other a hug. This happened after Goenka hosted a special dinner for the team in Delhi ahead of LSG’s penultimate IPL 2024 league match against Delhi Capitals.

Goenka found himself at the center of attention during Sunrisers Hyderabad’s 10 wicket victory over LSG in Hyderabad on May 8, when his animated conversation with Rahul was seen as the captain being publicly humiliated. LSG bowlers were called to task by SRH openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma, who scorched the target in less than 10 overs, despite posting 165/4 in their allotted 20 overs. The loss had an impact on LSG’s net run rate. Although the team captained by KL Rahul is still vying for a berth in the IPL 2024 playoffs, their NRR, which is the lowest of all teams, will not help them in the event that playoff qualification depends on it.

After the event, with all the guns pointed at Goenka and his actions being called needless, former cricket players and fans had a field day. The LSG camp’s silence added gasoline to the fire, and rumors that KL Rahul will probably resign as captain for the remainder of the IPL 2024 and that Rahul wouldn’t likely be kept by LSG until the IPL2025 action, which is scheduled for later this year, only made matters worse after a few days.

With Goenka and Rahul shown cuddling up, pictures circulated by social media influencers suddenly depict a different scenario. The LSG coach, Justin Langer, 53, described the specifics of the chat in an interview with TOI. Although it appeared harsh at first, the 53-year-old claimed that it was actually fairly mild.We didn’t quite execute our game plan. It was, in actuality, a catastrophe. “What happened?” was the question Mr. Goenka posed to KL after the game. Our proposed plan has not been effective. What should we do right now? Subsequently, we discussed it. Nobody heard what was said because the sound was off. Though rather docile in reality, it appeared quite violent,” Langer remarked.
